How to use lightboxes

The purpose of the light box is to enable you to collect images of interest together. You can create up to 10 separate lightboxes each with an individual name of your own choosing. You can place up to 102 images into each lightbox with notes attached to each image. Each light box can be emailed to whoever you wish as well as to yourself.

Buying and downloading

You first need to register as a buyer only then can you purchase and download.

After you have successfully registered you will be able to select the images you require and purchase them.

You can then pay using a valid credit card or if you do not have a credit card please contact Image Register customer services to make alternative arrangements.

After confirmation of your payment you will receive an Email that will contain a link to the pictures you have purchased. Using the link provided in this Email you can then download your purchase. The link will remain active for a period of 7 days after which time the link is cancelled.

How to become a contributor

How to submit your images:

1. Apply to be a contributor.

Registration as a contributor is obligatory.

Your acceptance of the online contributor contract

Successful registration will be notified by email.

2. Send us 15 examples of your work on CD.

Images must be saved as JPEG at best quality (level 12) These files must open to a minimum 48 MB.

Perfect unblemished images only.

You can either send us your images on disc or you can FTP them directly to Image Register. To FTP your Test Images use the FTP address you are supplied with in your welcome Email.

Discs must show:

Your Image Register Unique number;

Your Image Register User name;

Your Email address.

Post your Disc to Image Register (address)

We recommend that you capture your images as raw files.

You make any adjustments to these Raw Files before saving to TIFF Adobe RGB1988 at 300 dpi. Minimum 48 Mb. Finally you save as Quality 12 JPG.

3. The image quality and subject matter is checked.

Only technically perfect images are accepted.

Any technical problems will result in us rejecting your media.

Offensive or Obscene images will result in immediate closure of your account.

We notify you on receipt of your submission and again on the outcome of our quality control.

4. Your account is activated.

We notify you by Email that you have been accepted.

You use your password to access your account.

Enter captions and keywords.

5. Enter your Keywords.

6. Your images are available for sale.

Congratulations you are now a valued contributor to Image Register.

Royalty-free Licensing

Represented on the search system by Royalty-free (RF). This is a simple form of licensing and the price is determined by file size, but can vary depending on the provider. Please note that not all of Image Register's RF images are model or property released. It is your responsibility to check whether a model/property release exists and whether the usage you are using it for requires a release. For Model release form click here and for property release form click here. The buyer pays a one-off fee - they do not have to pay royalties to contributors on a use-by-use basis. The buyer will not know who else is using the image. The buyer should check that the image has the appropriate releases before using the image where a release is required.
